Recommended Tightening Stress

For low pressure gas seals, there are times when appropriate sealability cannot be obtained by the bolt load found by m, y specified in the Appendix G to JIS B 8265.
For the minimum tightening stress, the recommended tightening stress which applies to the projected area (total contact cross section) of the gasket is recommended. For the minimum tightening force, please use the tightening force (Wm1 and Wm2) calculated from the Appendix G to JIS B 8265 or the tightening force calculated from the recommended tightening stress and the total contact cross section, whichever tightening force is greater.
